Os Ateliês de Sociologia Pós-Ocidental constituem um espaços de pesquisa, formação e diálogo voltado à produção de conhecimento sociológico para além das divisões rígidas entre “Ocidente” e “não Ocidente”. Em vez de tomar uma tradição intelectual como medida universal para todas as sociedades, essa perspectiva promove o encontro entre conceitos, experiências de campo e formas de conhecimento produzidas em diferentes contextos, com especial atenção às interlocuções entre China, Brasil, Europa. Outras regiões do Sul Global também serviriam de referência.
A Sociologia Pós-Ocidental não propõe rejeitar o pensamento sociológico ocidental, mas descentralizá-lo e colocá-lo em relação com outras tradições intelectuais. Os Ateliês buscam, assim, favorecer a tradução, a circulação e a construção compartilhada de conhecimentos, explorando aproximações, diferenças e tensões capazes de renovar as maneiras pelas quais compreendemos as transformações do mundo contemporâneo.
Post-Western Sociology Workshops constitute spaces for research, training, and dialogue focused on producing sociological knowledge beyond rigid divisions between the "West" and the "non-West." Instead of taking a single intellectual tradition as a universal benchmark for all societies, this perspective fosters the encounter between concepts, fieldwork experiences, and forms of knowledge produced in different contexts, with special attention to dialogue between China, Brazil, Europe. Other regions of the Global South will also be referred to.
Post-Western sociology does not propose rejecting Western sociological thought, but rather decentralizing it and bringing it into conversation with other intellectual traditions. Thus, the Workshops aim to promote the translation, circulation, and shared construction of knowledge, exploring convergences, differences, and tensions capable of renewing the ways we understand transformations of the contemporary world.
